. Home Security is not complete in the way we see. It is incomplete and invisible to us. The news reports show that it doesn't matter whether the house is occupied or not. What matter is whether you have a house and some expensive belongings.

People who live single should take special care. Times have changed. But the history is repeating, in a sophisticated way. Our seniors and singles, both dare to live alone. There are a few who considers the possibilities of a burglary. Every day you find about a senior being cheated or assaulted by someone. How does it happen? They are more vulnerable and physically the weaker section of the society.

There are several things that we cannot change. Most of us follow a similar routine daily and hence we are predictable. And we are so busy with our daily life that we do not notice who all are noticing us, our home and how much others know about us. And everybody has one or the other way of securing their home. But is it enough?

Certain confrontations might not end up pleasant. Last week I read a news in which a youngster who tried to burgle a home was handled properly by the house owner who was a former boxing champion! He couldn't run away from the responsibility of taking care of himself, his wife and his property and he was capable of it. Not everyone might have survived the situation. Knowing some tips of self defense gives you more confidence. Self defense education helps you to know where you stand in a critical situation. Practice once in a while how to handle a situation so that you will be prepared always. Teach your family members too.

How much do you know about the location where you live? Some areas seem normal and friendly. Please do not take this calmness for granted and make friendship with anyone you find in your locality and reveal your vacation plans, personal secrets and security faults. It might not be the same with everyone always. Majority of our seniors are victims of scams just because they could not identify these dual personalities. Surprisingly, some has gone to the farthest extend of providing their account details within a weeks of phone in chats. Last week there was a news report of a lady who could cheat almost 50 seniors under the disguise of a helper.

Never believe in sweepstakes blindly. If they offer a gift in return of a purchase or payment do not go for it. Because those are frauds. Sweepstakes never happen in return of something!

Home Security systems are very important since burglars know what its function is. So anyone will hesitate to loot a home with a home security. Also do not plan to buy any security system, because we often decide on some system and end up in trouble. You have to take special attention and care while selecting a security system. The company should have good reputation. This means that you get a quality service for your investment. Otherwise you will end up burning your fingers and never again bother to buy one which is a very dangerous decision.

We rely on home security systems to take care of our house. With that trust sometimes we might not take any other precautions. Fire detectors, smoke detectors, glass break sensors, motion detectors likewise there are several kinds of home alarms available in the market. You have to take enough time to identify the security threat of your home. Buy the best quality product available in the market. Check the performance of home security systems used by your neighbors, friends and others. It will give you an idea of what to choose, the available features and so many other information. Door-to-door sales people might not be reliable. They might not be able to give the right information. And in some cases they might be frauds. So if you are interested, ask them for a reference number. Make a call to them and ask your concerns. Also meet the representatives in person.

Do not take home security systems for granted. They will work only if you remember to activate it. What if you forgot? Do take special care in the safety and security of your home. It is not one person's responsibility. Educate all of your family what to do and how to do in emergencies.
