It is a state that has a lot of history and also a lot of tourism. Most people think that the only place to be on guard in terms of home security is in the big cities, but this is sadly not true. Crimes, like break ins and home invasions, are not proportionately higher in Philadelphia and Pittsburg. Surprisingly, they are just as common in more rural areas of the state.

Rural homes are more susceptible to these kinds of crime than you would think particularly because they are more isolated. Oftentimes people leave their homes unattended to make trips into the big cities, or over the holidays they travel to other states. These are the times when your home is most vulnerable. Most people who break into homes do so out of opportunity rather than animosity or a more premeditated agenda. The fact of the matter is that when residents are away the criminals will play, and if your home is left unprotected they will most likely make a profit without getting caught.
