Home Security-keep An Eye On Your Elderly Parents' Caregiver When You Are Not There-three Way

Starting in 2011, the number of baby boomers is going to explode

. An estimated 30 million adults will enter the Social Security pool and start collecting benefits. As the country continues to age, a myriad amount of potential problems start to crop up. One of them is a shortage of long-term care facilities. Another is a shortage of healthcare workers to care for the elderly.

Nursing homes and long-term care facilities can frequently run $8-$10,000 a month. Not many people could afford that. So what is the alternative?

Many adults have resigned themselves to becoming "parents to their parents" and either moving them into their own homes or monitoring their care at their folks' homes. But they can't do it by themselves. That's where qualified home healthcare workers come in.

The problem is there is an extreme shortage of qualified home healthcare workers. You can go through an agency to give you a little bit more peace of mind but those agencies are stretched thin and frequently don't do the required background checks to make sure their clients are protected or check that the employees have the proper training and background.

There are some other ways that you can keep an eye on those home healthcare workers and your folks either in your home or in the home of your parents.

1. The first is with a home hidden camera. I like the alarm clock hidden camera that records images to an SD card much like a digital camera does. You can record up to 144 hours of motion activated activity. To replay it just remove the SD card and put it in your SD card reader on your computer.

2. The second way is to get an IP camera that connects directly to your computer at home. It can be accessed remotely so you can see what's going on at your home or their home while you're at work or on vacation or anywhere in the world where you have access the Internet.

3. The third way is to get a hidden camera and hook it up to an embedded DVR that has the capability of remotely accessing the video. Not all DVR's have this capability so be careful when you do it. That may be the best way because you can keep an eye on everything 24/7.

When you want to keep an eye on your elderly parents' caregiver when you can't be there, try one of these three ways.

If you are reading this chances are crime has somehow touched your life directly or indirectly thru relatives, friends or neighbors. Don't become the next victim. Take some action today and get a home spy camera and find out what is going on when you are not there.
