When you bought your brand new TV it happened to come with a surround sound system and now you are thinking about how to hook it up but are dreading having to run all the wires into the home theater receiver to make it all work. Well the good news is that it doesn't have to be that difficult and you really can have it pretty much all setup in around 5 minutes.
The real problem that you will want to think about it where you are going to hide the speaker wires. Trying to get the rear speakers behind your couch and make sure no trips on your speaker wires is never an easy task.
To get started take out your receiver and get it into place where you want it. We need to make sure all of your difference components are running the sounds through it instead of your TV speakers. There is an easy way to do this and a hard way to do this. I prefer the easy way. To take the easy route just look at the back of your TV and look for the audio out connections on the back of your TV. Once you have them just run one cable from your TV to your receiver.
With this setup you don't have to worry about buying new cables and trying to run all of your devices to your receiver. This way you are pulling the sound from all of your different devices through your TV then back to your receiver. It saves you a ton of time and hassle.
So it is now time to turn everything on and see if we get the miracle of sound. Quickly go to your TV settings menu and check your audio setting and make sure you are set to external sound. Once this is done check every one of your components and make sure you hear sound. It is that easy.
