Homemade Christmas Crafts A Great Way To Spend Quality Time With Your Family

They say that many families do not spend enough quality time together. Our lives become so busy with work, school and the daily grind that we forget what is truly important our families. The holiday season is a great way for families to reconnect and spend more time together, but you should do more than just sit around watching television. Why not sit around the table making homemade Christmas crafts this year? Not only will you be able to bond and talk, but you will be creating memories as well.

An activity that will involve needing a few hands is to create a large Christmas card display board. These boards are a way for you to showcase the cards that you receive over the season. If you are like most families, then you probably receive numerous cards each and every year. These cards typically get opened, displayed on the table for a few days, and then dumped into the trash to make room for others. Creating display boards will give them a more creative home.

All that is needed for this activity is a large piece of cardboard (i.e. 3 feet by 2 feet), ribbon, some tape and wrapping paper. Cut out a large square of cardboard from a box then have someone else place wrapping paper across the cardboard and fold it behind the board. Have someone else tape the pieces of wrapping paper while the other person is holding it in place. Lastly, have someone place the ribbon across the front like a present, while another person tapes it into place.

As a family you can decide where the cards should go on the board and how you want them displayed. Getting all hands involved in this process makes it fun and enjoyable. Reading through the cards as a family lets you see what friends and family members are doing this holiday season.

This homemade Christmas craft activity is a fun one to do and will require help from many hands, as it is a large project to complete. Because many hands will be needed to hold and tape things into place, this makes for a great activity to do as a family.
