Homemade Windmills: Don't Pay Thousands For A Windmill Before You Read This!

Homemade Windmills are not a new concept; it used to be that all windmills were made by hand

. In the era before the discovery of electricity people made windmill to exploit the kinetic (motion) energy of the wind and repurpose it for all sorts of task including milling, grinding and pumping water for drinking and irrigation.

The Modern Age:

With the discovery and harnessing of electricity, and the desire to do so without using fossil fuels, windmills have had resurgence in popularity. A windmill is a natural fit for electrical generation, and they are relatively easy to construct since they don't require the use of complicated photo-voltaics the way that solar power does.

Commercial Windmills:

Windmills are now available to purchase from commercial companies but they are priced so high that they are generally not feasible for the average consumer

Homemade Windmills:

Many determined folks are not letting the cost of commercial windmills stop them from going green. A growing trend in the go-green community is to take matters into your own hands! Many people have made their own homemade windmills and use them as their sole energy supply or combine them with grid power or even DIY solar systems. It is even possible to make several homemade windmills and have extra energy to put back on the grid. That means you are actually powering other people's homes as well! It is actually possible to become a power supplier and get paid to put green energy on the grid in many states!

Overcoming the Obstacles:

Think that making your own windmill is out of your reach? Think again! With a little motivation anyone can do this. My favorite success story is that of William Kamkwamba from Malawi. He was forced to quit school due to the intense poverty that he lives it. He didn't let that stop him from finding a way to bring electricity to his family home. He borrowed books from the library, most of which were somewhat vague, and in other languages and he figured out how to build a working homemade windmill! His family now has power for the first time and he is an international celebrity.

You can build a Homemade Windmill, and the world needs you to.

Recent events in the gulf coast of the US have forced us to take a hard look at how we get our energy. Using fossil fuels is not sustainable at best and catastrophic at worst. We need more people to make a commitment to do things differently!

With a little persistence you can go green on a budget. If your still not 100% confident that you're ready to tackle this project on your own some savvy do "greeners" have put together entire courses that will show you how to do each and every step, so no excuses! Get plans if you need them, but going green is something the world needs you to do right now!
