Honda City Is Under Pressure Of Volkswagen Vento

Honda City admitted that the company is under some pressure upon the entry of Volkswagen Vento

. According to Takashi Nagai at Honda Siel India, it is a state of little worry when Volkswagen is combined with Suzuki. It is for the first time that the Honda Cars India's pride, will be on this kind of pressure. the introduction of Volkswagen in the Rs 7-10 lakh C-segment through Volkswagen Vento in the India market, may give Honda some tensed months in India. But where lies the truth? Is it really a gloomy affair for Honda or has Volkswagen staggered during its effort of becoming a segment leader?

The two cars looks fantastic, both the the Honda City and Volkswagen. Volkswagen Vento doesn't give you the spirit of Volkswagen Polo and the car is totally different. But if you just look over the view of the design, you'll find it hard to find any difference between the hatch and the sedan sibling. What gives a clear difference is the increasing waistline and the extra metal over the C-pillar. The wheels are not being transformed, with the same 15 inch wheels. On the other hand, Honda City is known for its space-age lines that has sharp front-end. Honda had even provide additional new variant last year which incorporated alloy wheels and fog lamps. The parallelogram head lamps gives an extreme dynamic look. For the overall, the Honda City supplies great look of a car with a low centre of gravity. When it comes to the back seats of the Volkswagen Vento, the model will not let you feel cramped and the rear seat have been designed nicely that you get enough shoulder room, knee room and head room. Volkswagen Vento can speed up from 0-100 kph in just 11.81 seconds while Honda City is quite electrifying and a 0-100 kph timing of 10.59 seconds just strengthens the fact that it is the quickest accelerating model in the segment, petrol or diesel.

After some comparison, Honda City is a more recommendable package as a whole but its biggest drawback is its price tag - Rs 9.56 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai. While Volkswagen Vento diesel is available for Rs 9.85 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai.
