Honda Dio 2012 Got Some Modifications

The Honda bikes launched its Honda Dio about a decade ago along with its Honda Activa that was quite famous among the youth at that time

. Since then, the present scooter has gone under several modifications to be in the competition in the market. These developments made the Bajaj auto out of the market which before Honda were leading market rulers in this segment. The Honda bikes have launched its new Honda Dio 2012 with some modifications to have a big hold on the market. The new scooter will replace all the previous versions available in the market. The deliveries of new scooter have already been started.

Talking about the Honda Dio features, the two-wheeler is powered with a 109-cc engine that produces a maximum power of 8.11 PS @ 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 8.66 Nm @ 5,500 rpm.The New Honda scooter is all fibre-plastic bodied to reduce its weight. It shares same engine as the Honda Activa and Honda Aviator are using, but can deliver more mileage compared to both of them as it is quite light weighted as compared to them. The mileage of new two-wheeler is expected to be around 55 kmpl which according to the company officials is 15% higher than its previous version.The two-wheeler touches 0-60 kmph mark in around 10.8 seconds. The compact size and light weight allows you to better cornering and manoeuvring. It has a maintenance free battery which is common in all the variants of Honda namely Activa, Dio and Aviator.

The new Honda scooter has a Combi break feature. With combi brake feature, scooter applies both front and rear brake in combination when rear brake lever is pressed which results in smooth driving without any sudden jerks. The new Dio 2012 has Tubeless tyres, so that the chances of tyre being punctured are reduced to a great extent. The new Dio scooter has a luggage box at the front side and has 18 litre storage capacity under the seat.The new Dio comes with five colours namely as black, leblon violet metallic, candy palm green, sports red and vibrant blue metallic. The body match colour is sprayed at front panel, front mud-guard and rear side panels. The seat is also wrapped in two-tone shade.

Having a first look at the Honda Dio pictures, it appears quite different from its previous versions. The last version before this was launched early back in 2002, since then this new version has an entire new look. The Honda two-wheeler loses the heavy steel body and replaces it with a sleek plastic body which not only makes it look extremely euro-chic, but also makes it look like its doing 100km/h while standing still. With all the above features, Honda DioHonda Dio price is around Rs.Rs. 42,630/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new two-wheeler with its great features and eye-catching looks is surely going to add to the glory of Honda Bikes. The new scooter is supposed to perform well in the market because of the increased competition in the market in this segment mainly due to recent launching of scooters by TVS motors and Yamaha motors.
