They're some amazing parts to the S2000 - if you have the car or any parts of the car installed into your vehicle, then you know what I'm talking about. Not only is it a great car with amazing parts, but the thing is a Honda .. do you know how reliable parts are? Especially Honda parts? Not that I want to play favorites, but I know that OEM Honda parts are pretty good.

When the AP1 model had finally been released in 1999, it had a pretty powerful front-mid engine (it didn't matter if it was a Rebuilt Car Engine or a new one), a rear-wheel drive layout that had power being delivered by a 1,997 cc (122 cu in) F20C inline 4 cylinder DOHC-VTEC engine .. whatever that means.

This kind of engine had the amazing power of producing 237 hp all the way to 250 PS; and from 153 lbf-ft to 22.2 kg-m .. if you're amazing with numbers then you know what I'm talking about. The engine that's installed is matched to a manual transmission with six - speeds and Torsen limited slip differential. If this type of Rebuilt Car Engine (or even brand new engine) was on something like a Jaguar or a BMW, then do you know how much more expensive the car would be?

It's funny to think that a Honda Engine & Honda parts can make an expensive car that much more expensive .. you know?

The features on the S2000 AP1 model had included independent double wishbone suspension, steering that was electronically-assisted, and integrated roll hoops. These are the things that look like they should go on cars that are made today .. not back then.

When the AP2 model chassis was released in 2004, there were a lot of significant & noticeable changes that were made; but everything needs change .. right?

There were newly designed 17" Honda S2000 Wheels (which are extremely nice) with Bridgestone tires (which are both nice and reliable). It even came with a retuned suspension to reduce oversteer. Oversteer (of a motor vehicle) have a tendency to turn more sharply than it was originally intended to.

The spring rates on the car and the shock absorber damping were also altered for the release of the AP2 chassis; which is a pretty good thing because aren't these two things important to your car? The suspension on the Honda S2000 was geometry modified in order to provide a more reliable stability by reducing toe-in changes under specific - if not all - cornering loads. In the transmission (or in the Used Transmission - it really doesn't matter if we were being completely honest here), they had replaced the brass synchronizers with carbon fiber. This is a material that consists of thin but strong crystalline filaments of carbon that are used as a strengthening material. s

Not only did it have changes on the inside, but it also had changes on the outside - or to be more specific, the exterior part of the car. There were new bumpers for the front & the back, some new headlights, LED tail -lights, AND some oval - tipped exhausts.

When the 2006 model was released to the public, the car had introduced a drive by wire throttle, an electronic stability control system, some new OEM Honda Rims , and a new color that you can choose from : Laguna Blue Pearl .. which would make sense because I would think most of the people in Laguna Beach have this car.
