Honda plans to introduce more green models

It's on. Honda announced that it plans to launch electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids

to add to is low-emission fleet and, no doubt, to compete with other brands who have already done so, or are scrambling to get something into production.

Waterbury Honda Civic dealers are happy to hear this, as it will open up new markets to them and allow their customers access to more eco-friendly transportation. Honda also plans to have several models ready to roll in Japan in the next year based on the company's current hybrid.

When it comes to the U.S. market, Honda plans electric and plug-in vehicles here and in Japan as early as 2012. Puntman County, NY used Honda customers will soon have greener option in the Honda family, something many have been waiting for.

Honda Motor Co. President Takanobu Ito said, "What I think is most important, and the message I conveyed strongly to all Honda associates, was to provide good products to our customers with speed, affordability and low CO2 emissions." Ito announced this during a press conference in Wako, Saitama, Japan where Honda's main sales office is located.

Although Honda has been around awhile and has a solid reputation, it is only the third-largest auto maker in Japan, behind Toyota Motors and Nissan Motor Co. Buyers of the Waterbury Honda Civic have shown how loyal Honda owners can be and these new choices in the line-up may increase that loyalty.

Honda is resuming plans to open a manufacturing plant in Yorii, Saitama, Japan, north of Tokyo. That plant was put on hold when the auto industry nose-dived. Even though this plant is being activated, plans for an additional plant in Yokkaichi, Mie in central Japan have been nixed. The purpose of this plant was going to be production of mini vehicles.

Honda has been gaining customers and attention with models like the refreshed Honda Odyssey minivan, which it touts as making mini vans cool. The jury is still out on that one, although if I had to drive a minivan, the Odyssey would certainly be at the top of my list. The new CR-Z hybrid also is getting lots of well-deserved attention for its affordability and practicality.

Puntman County, NY used Honda shoppers can be sure there is a Honda model to fit their needs and their budgets. Not only do Honda vehicles have a reputation for great resale value and long-lasting quality, but they are extremely affordable.

It would be nice if Honda would bring some of that production to the United States, but there has been no mention of that to this point. Anyway, foreign or not, Honda provides a quality product and makes sure we can afford it even in tough times.
