Hopefully Skirting Is The Last Thing She Wants To Buy
My mother is never happy with her house and always wants to make changes
. To be honest its an improvement from before where she would want to move house all the time, which not only cost lots of money but would take a lot of time and effort. On average at one point she was moving every three years which isnt good and Im not too sure how she managed to afford it all the time. Now thankfully shes staying but she always wants to give the house a make over.
The other say she was dragging me around cushion stores when we were meant to be meeting up for lunch. The thing is she easily spends a few hundred pounds each time she changes the colour scheme and thats only the cushions and nothing else. Before that last month she was getting my opinion on new curtains which she was having made to measure. I dont know why shes so determined to get new things all the time. I appreciate that we all want a new look every now and again. Im the same but its once every three or four years and not every three or four months. Im surprised shes got any colours left to use and she hasnt gone through them all.
Now she wants new skirting, Im hoping shell keep this skirting for a while as in fairness to her she hasnt wanted to change skirting boards before. Ive got to admit the skirting boards shes currently got are a little dirty looking so it wouldnt do any harm replacing them as long as she doesnt keep doing it all the time.
My husband has volunteered his services to get the boards fitted but he has said if she keeps purchasing new stuff every few months he wont always make the time and effort to do them for her as its not needed but desired instead. I cant say I blame him and I can see hes got a point. Hopefully soon shell realise shes gone a bit over board on it all and that she needs to get a hobby.
