Like every year the 16th annual world cup was held at the Meydan racecourse sponsored by the official partner Emirates Airlines. Meydan was covered by the fades of the sand storm before the race was about to commence but soon settled down. In the unanticipated event, the Dubai world cup was taken home by a Japanese horse, the four year old Victoire Pisa trained by the Japanese trainer, Katsuhiko Summi.
