. Generally hoses are put to many uses in house hold or industrial, or any other work. The hose pipes are made by combining different materials, such as rubber, polyurethane, PVC, polyethylene, nylon. There are number of hose pipes and there are many uses of these pipes hence different materials are used to make these pipes.
To start with an example of the type of hoses popularly used one, is a fire hose. Nowadays as a security measure, in every building there is a fire extinguisher fitted. It may use water or foam to put off the fire, but to carry that water or foam a hose has to be used which is known as a fire hose. In our daily routine we use so many forms of hoses. Right from the washing we to washing our cars, we require hose everywhere. Hoses come in different materials which are meant to be for different uses and have different durability. The hose made out of rubber is a tough one with longer durability and is much heavier than the other type. Rubber hose is generally the preference for commercial use as it lasts long. On the contrary the vinyl hose is taken more for domestic uses as it is light weight and is easy to handle. Another type of hose is a combination of these two materials i.e rubber and vinyl.
Some hoses are specially designed for specific uses which makes the work easier. There is a specific type of hose which is known as the soaker hose, which is made of a porous material. This is generally used in the gardens as it helps the water to trickle out very slowly which in turn keeps the plants and soil moist and there is no wastage of water as well. In short, hoses are used from the terrace of your house to the gutters, and it is such a thing which cannot be replaced with any other thing. Hose have the capacity of giving so much force to the water that if it is attached with the gutter cleaner then it can be very helpful to clean the debris without any hard work. One very important and lifesaving function of an air hose is that it can carry air if we are under water or is taking oxygen from a cylinder.
The uses of hoses are innumerable. Such as air hoses are used for air brakes in a train, in automobiles the hose carries fuel to the engine, even in a fuel station we need a hose to fill the tanks of the automobiles.
