HostelsClub's tradition to celebrate the latest site's advances with their hostels partners becomes a legend: more than 400 partners came this year to Venice on November 27, 2010 for HostelsClub's Annual Party. Even with the high water and rain, nobody wanted to miss the chance to celebrate the successful year in the romantic historic city center of Venice with the HostelsClub staff!

After the launch party of HostelsClub's new web design in 2009, this year, the online booking platform became more flexible, faster and revealed the particularity of new tools for the social network. The new Lifetime Membership provides, in particular, very special services for backpackers. The holder of the card will not only be able to book hostels worldwide without paying the booking fees, but will also have the possibility to create a real package for the trip with additional discounts!

HostelsClub is creating a growing network of partner companies such a bars, clubs, stores and tours in the most visited cities in the world which are offering special discounts to holders of this card. By using HostelsClub, clients no longer only have safe and cheap options for booking accommodation, but also will receive a lot of ideas on how and where to go cheaply on their next holiday.

Speaking of holiday, the weekend in Venice included pre-party activities which were tons of fun. The main evening event, however, began in the Rialto area, where guests had private gondola tours along the Grand Canal to the 'Scuola Grande di San Giovanni Evangelista', one of the six famous "schools" in Venice. Founded in 1261 in the church of Sant'Aponal (Sant'Apollinare), this building is the result of a centennial series of architectural and decorative interventions: the campus was extended by the addition of an external archway by Pietro Lombardo and the Scalone Monumentale (great staircase) gives noble access to the Sala Capitolare (Chapter Room) by Mauro Codussi, a great architect from the Venetian early Renaissance.

At midnight the guests had the unique possibility to join excursion through the school and see a grandiose series of 'teleri' (paintings on large canvasses mounted on frames) such as the "Miracoli della Croce" (Miracles of the Cross) by Vittore Carpaccio or the "Sala Capitolare". The East and West wings were done by George Massari in the first half of the eighteenth century. This elegant and historic backdrop allowed for a wonderful night of mingling amongst the world's top hoteliers. Not to mention, the entertainment with the special guests: Giles, Ralph, Graham & Neal Broadbent aka Stringfever, filled the rooms with a great energy with their electric instruments and live beat-boxing! Definitely a night to remember.
