Hot Sunglasses Trends For Spring 2012

This season's hottest fashion accessories aren't bags

, belts or berets - they're sunglasses and they have been showing up on fashion runways everywhere. Virtually every designer, from Tory Burch to Kate Spade to the Gap showcased an array of stylish sunglasses to accentuate their newest collections during Fashion Week.

Wayfarers and aviators were shown on both women and men and both trends appear to be more popular than ever. Naturally, both are used to protect eyes from dangerous sun rays while playing active sports, but they are also used as a fun accessory to enhance and complete an outfit.

The big news is the vast variety of colors and shapes of sunglasses worn this season. Stunning colored frames in every hue possible are combined with equally varied lenses. Metallics, brights, pastels, and multicolored sunglasses are just as hot as ombre glasses and those with fun prints like chevron and tortoiseshell. Wholesale polarized sunglasses and gradient lenses have emerged in every possible shape, from circular to oval to heart or diamond. The large selection may be confusing, but if you choose frames that look great with your specific face shape, selecting the most flattering sunglasses will be simpler. If you aren't sure of your face shape, simply draw a soap or removable lipstick outline on the mirror. Although no one's face conforms exactly to type, you can choose the one that you most closely resemble, selecting from round, square, oval, heart, diamond, or oblong.

A round face does best with square or oval frames, while a square face will be softened by round, cat-eye or oval shapes. If you have a classic oval shape, almost any sunglasses will work, although rounded squares will look the best. The long oblong (think Sarah Jessica Parker) looks smaller in oversized square or round glasses while cat-eye and oval frames have a tendency to soften the sharp angles of the diamond-shaped countenance. Naturally, these are not definite rules, and trying on the glasses you like remains the best way to make the right choice.

And, there is no need to limit yourself to just one pair. Buying one sturdy for playing sports and for driving is a smart investment, but you can acquire two or three less costly pairs to show off your fashion savvy by buying them from a wholesale sunglasses distributor.
