Hotel Rooms In Shanghai: Right Price, Right Location
Although Shanghai is one of the largest cities in the world
, there are still definite areas in the city that are more convenient, and better located than others. Choosing a Shanghai hotel is usually a compromise between good price and good location - city central hotels in Shanghai usually charge a premium (because that's what their real estate costs), while most of the best Shanghai economy hotel rooms can be found in the outskirts of the city. However, there are a few fortuitous places where both the right price and a great location can be found in the one neat hotel package! Today we look at some of the best-located Shanghai economy hotels.
Jinjiang Inn is known worldwide as one of the most reliable, dependable and high quality Chinese budget hotel chains. They have around 60 hotels throughout the city, but the best-located branch is certainly Jinjiang Inn Shanghai Huamu. It is located only a mile from the Shanghai New International Expo Center, where the World Expo is currently being held. The Center will continue to host cultural, art-based and especially business events in the years to come - and Jinjiang Inn's Shanghai budget hotel is only a hop, step and jump away.
Jinjiang Inn Shanghai Zhenru is also very well-located, especially for long-term stays. This Shanghai hotel is in the residentially-focused Putou district, it is within walking distance of supermarkets and surrounded by schools, hospitals, and green spaces - a great place for business travelers to put down some temporary roots. The bedding and room design in this Shanghai budget hotel is simple, but very comfortable, and the hotel itself has some very convenient added extras such as free broadband, flat screen TVS in room, cable TV, word processing copying/faxing services for business travelers ... and delicious delicately brewed coffee for all travelers!
City Hotel Shanghai is in a busier area, but quite convenient for tourists - this Shanghai budget hotel is within walking distance of the French Concession, Huai Hai Middle Road and Nanjing Road. You can grab a quick taxi to other famous tourist spots, including the Bund, Yuyuan Garden and People's Square from this Shanghai budget hotel. Rooms here are tight on space, but have good amenities - king size beds, working space and a television as well as street views are available with most suites.
The Anting Villa Hotel in Shanghai has plenty of character and a great location - it is considered specialty lodging and is well-liked by travelers, but doesn't fit into the 'budget' class as well as better-value stays such as Jinjiang Inn. The Shanghai hotel is an old mansion in the French concession area, and is very close to Shanghai Sideways and Song Qingling Guju. It's a low-rise hotel (unusual for Shanghai), and has some very cute added features such as central gardens and a musical fountain in the lobby. Guests at this Shanghai hotel often comment on the quietness of the area, given the size of the city it is located in.
It is certainly possible to find great hotels in Shanghai at very reasonable prices - look around a little, and you'll be able to grab a well-located bargain!
