Houston, Texas is a wonderful city to travel to. It doesn't matter if you are a kid, teenager or adult, Houston is going to have something you will enjoy.

The Downtown Aquarium is one of the most famous Houston attractions for the family to visit. With exhibits, games, rides and even restaurants you'll be able to easily spend a whole day at the Downtown Aquarium. You'll see nurse sharks in the "Gulf of Mexico" exhibit and even white tigers in the "Maharaja's Temple." Enjoy carnival style games for your chance to take home a souvenir. Cap off the day with dinner at the "Dive Lounge," a nice bar which serves food the entire family will like.

A trip to Houston wouldn't be complete without a visit to Allen's Landing, the location where August and John Allen landed before claiming Houston. This port later grew to become extremely important to Houston's economy. Today, Allen's Landing has been renovated so that it looks like the original port with a promenade, a terraced grass lawn and even includes some fabulous artwork.

The Bayou Bend is one other major site to visit while in Houston. The Bayou Bend was the former dwelling of Ima Hogg, a generous philanthropist. It is now the location of the Museum of Fine Arts where you can see a huge variety of paintings and sculptures from early America starting in the early 1600s through the late 1800s.

If you are searching for an after dinner activity that the whole family will enjoy, you should visit Houston's Broadway Across America to see a show. Broadway Across America offers the best touring Broadway shows from New York's Broadway and London's West End. Broadway Across America is also great for groups. And here's a little insider tip - it is best to order your tickets ahead of time so you get the show you want and the best seats.

The Houston Downtown Discovery Park is a fantastic place to go with your family. There is something everyone can enjoy in this 12 acre park located in downtown Houston. Pack a picnic and enjoy your meal by the one acre lake, bring the kids to the playground to spend some time, watch the dogs have fun in the dog run and take a look at some of the public art.

The Houston Public Library is an excellent spot to grab a book and read on the wide lawns. Another great idea is to have dinner at one of several tasty restaurants such as The Grove or The Lake House. The water gardens in Kinder Lake are a beautiful site, they take up more than an acre of the park. Bring your remote control boat and race it against other people at the shallow pool.
