3. Become friendly with your neighbors.

There will be no bigger ally in protecting your home security than your neighbors whether they be right next door, down the block, or across town. All can have an important role to play in protecting your house and the safety of your possessions and your family. This is because you can all form a sort of informal neighborhood watch. If you are going out of town, tell one of them or all of them and they can keep an eye out on your house in different capacities.
