So take the time (and it will be a while, make no mistake) to gain backlinks through your judicious use of SEO. The reason this will take time is because you do need search engines, like Google, to recognize that your site is more valuable with its backlinks, and therefore worthwhile to index.

Finally, it makes the same kind of sense that Mom and Pop had with their corner store. Instead of staying on the corner, they put it right on the freeway, with a hundred lanes running right to them. That's what backlinks did for Mom and Pop, and they will do it for you.
