How Banksy Changed Street Art In London

For many years, street art in London has been something that attracts many people

. This is because of the ability of the artists to express their views and to touch the hearts of their fans through the art. However, although there have been many artists in this wonderful city, there is no doubting the fact that none of them can beat the contribution that Banksy has made to the industry. The celebrated street artist has come up with so many things that will stay in the hearts of those who know him forever and which have definitely set the standards in the industry.

Through several Banksy posters, street art in London got a whole new meaning. There are those which made him a darling of many while others got him in trouble especially with the authorities. However, despite all that, everyone who knows about Banksy knows that he is an artist who stands by his words and who believes in what he does. He is not the kind of street artist who will regret his work. No matter what happens, he always knows that he has a reason why he created that particular piece and will therefore have no apologies to make.

One of the things that make Banksy the most celebrated street artist in London is that he displays his street art in places that are accessible by all. For example, they can easily be found on street walls. He also has built many physical prop pieces that he uses to display hist art. Because of this, many people who want to have a glimpse of what this famous artist can do never have a difficult time to do so. However. what is tricky about it bis that even though they are easily be displayed, buying them is a different thing because Banksy does not sell them by himself. He contracts other agencies and companies to do so.

One of the most memorable works of Bannksy is when he created spoof British pound notes. In those notes, he replaced the words "Bank Of England" with "Banksy Of England" then went ahead to replace the head of the queen with that of Diana, the princes of whales. That same years, a person threw many such notes into a crowd that scrambled for them. Some of the people that pickedthem even attempted to spend them at local shops. The notes were also give together with invitations to his next event.

Apart from that, one of his popular pieces was marked as vandalism by officers from the authorities. Ir was a poster that portrayed a child and which had writings that asked the people to take the society forward. Although there was no initial evidence that it was done by Banksy, it was very similar to the others that he had done before and this is the reason why the people associated that piece of street art to him. It was later removed as had been ordered although there is no doubting the fact that he had already achieved his goal.

Banksy also attracted the attention of many street art lovers when he painted a portrait of two people clutching on bananas instead of guns in a scene very similar to the one found in a popular movie. Once again, the authorities removed it saying that it portrayed the society in bad social and moral; light and was therefore likely to increase crime and other related activities. Their was an outcry from the fans who like Banksy's art when the authorities announce that they were going to paint over the popular poster with some of them showing their protest in public.

For an artist who started from a humble background to becoming one of the biggest names in street art not only in London but in most cities of the world, everyone can testify that indeed, Banksy is a great artist. It also is without doubt that he has inspired many other young street artists who can only dream of moving up the ladder to become like Banksy. What many fans are crying for is the opportunity to easily buy their favorite paintings from this artists since most of them are sold at public auctions or organized events that cannot possibly be attended by everyone.
