By not printing the date on the bag, you will make sure the bag is used after the event, and hopefully, for a while to come. If promotional means are not your ideal in mind, but merely commemoration, then go ahead and date the bags.

What companies must remember, even though the bags are given out for free, is that they are not something that one would carry out of gratitude or out of style. Since the company's name is printed on the bags, people would think twice about carrying a free bag in everyday use. Now if a company's name were a designer name, it would be a different matter. But for ordinary companies, they must remember that there are key steps in making your bag something people will really use.

Firstly, the bag must suit the user's taste and lifestyle. Don't give laptop bags to fishermen. They need to be able, and want to use the bag. Secondly, resist printing your company name and logo on the front of the bag. Come up with a different way of adding your company identification, preferably one that can be detached. This gives the option to the user as to whether or not to use the name. Lastly, make sure the bag has some sort of style to it. Most people want to carry something stylish.
