Cheating is about taking something away from one person. But your spouse should get the best of your love and emotional support and not what little bit is leftover after you've given the bulk of it to another woman.
Online relationships are becoming more widely recognized as leading to emotional cheating. It's so much easier for people, especially men for some odd reason, to open up and build a significant emotional rapport and relationship with someone online he has never met in person. There is something about the perceived anonymity of being online that allows men to really open up with this other woman in a way he would never dream of opening up with his wife.
It's more than just an opinion that these emotional affairs are causing all sorts of problems in marriages today. They are even being used in court cases that claim infidelity or withdrawal of affections as stated reasons for the divorce. More importantly, courts are beginning to recognize these emotional affairs for just how serious they really are.
