1. The first issue about which the individual has to think is what he or she is truly interested in. One may like to watch sports on TV but has never thought about going in for them. Maybe the college is the time to try? One should never be afraid of exploring new opportunities the college offers to him or her and to be afraid of the failure if one feels that he or she has made a wrong choice, it is always possible to change the activity without any harm and trouble.

2. Group work should be assessed thoroughly even if one likes some sports but sees that there is one instructor for more than 15-20 students, it is necessary to think the perspective over once more. It is highly improbable that he or she will be able to attribute adequate attention to all participants.

3. Hidden costs should also be revised one may like the activity that costs not much or is even provided by the college for free. However, on starting to go in for some activity, one may find out that the uniform is bought at his or her own expense, expensive equipment is also his or her burden etc.
