How Can You Mend A Broken Heart? Here Are Some Great Tips!

You can't believe she left you - and took with her your reason for living

. You feel as if a close friend just died - and you're right, your relationship is dead. You're grieving over your loss. Well, there's no doubt you feel lousy, but believe it or not, as with all things, this too will pass. And again, as difficult as it may be to believe, there's more to life than relationships with women - even the one who just walked out of your life. She knocked you down - big deal, it happens to all of us sooner or later. She's gone now, so the only thing keeping you down is you. Get up and get moving!

The main order of business now is to get her completely out of your mind. The way to do this, paradoxically, is to let the mourning process take its course. Feel the sorrow and suffer the loss of your loving relationship - it's natural and strengthens you to get back on your feet and return to the world. As soon as the grief begins to lift, get to work on starting over - go through your place and pack up everything that's hers, or reminds you of her. This obviously means clothing and other physical things, but also photos. Don't keep these reminders of past happiness around while you're working on moving on. Once you've packed everything up, don't just put it on the floor in the closet - this is a subtle way your subconscious has of refusing to let her go. If her stuff is there, that means she's coming back sooner or later, right? So ship the box back to her and take the next big step toward mending your broken heart! Once you've dropped the box off at the post office, take stock, shower down, put on some clothes you wouldn't mind being seen in, and get back to living your life!

Think positive. Don't consider yourself to have been ditched, consider yourself to have found yourself with a lot of free time, free time you can devote to doing some of the things that always seemed to get put off when she was around. Get involved in a hobby you've been interested in, read books you've been intending to get to, join a gym and work out. Don't look for a woman to get involved with - use this time for yourself. One critical point - zoning out in front of the television isn't going to do you any good, so turn the tube off and ignore it.

Do some "guy things," things it was hard to with her around. Go fishing. Go hunting! Take in an athletic event or two. Hang out with the guys. Get involved in a sports league - play softball or whatever sports are available. Don't worry about women - they'll come back in your life soon enough, and you'll start having trouble finding time for yourself. Dedicate your time now to you. Physical exercise is important for a number of reasons - for instance, it helps trim and tone your body, which is an objective you should always have. When you're involved in exercise, your mind is usually actively engaged as well - it's tough to daydream while playing basketball or working out on a heavy bag.

Experiment with new things. Take some weekend trips - there are likely dozens of interesting places to visit and have a nice weekend outing, all within an hour's drive of your home. Resist the urge to party constantly, though - getting drunk will work to pull you back into the pit of depression and self-pity you're working to avoid. Avoid getting emotionally involved with another woman for a while - there's still grief that has to be dissipated from your old relationship, and you really want that grief all gone before you embark on a new relationship. A more difficult option now is to take an honest-to-goodness vacation (you've been promising yourself one for ages, right?). Go somewhere far away and spend a week or more there, visiting the local attractions and just relaxing and enjoying yourself.

If you try to find another woman right away - that is, if you try to replace something that failed - you're bound to fail once again. Wait until you've shed the emotional baggage you're carrying around as a result of your breakup. You'll know when the time is right to get involved with a new woman - there'll be no sense of pressure, no urgency or anxiety about meeting a new woman, just the intriguing possibility of a nice time with an interesting woman. Enjoy it then and go forward, never looking back.
