Years ago, if you asked a woman that question, more times than not the answer would be marriage and children. Men defined happiness as a good paying job.

Now women are more apt to say a good job defines their happiness and men depend on a stable family life. Everybody talks about how fast time flies. If you tend to stay in the present more often, experts suggest that your happiness scores go up. Those who look too far into the future feel anxious, helpless and score very high in despair.

Those people who dwell on past unfortunate replays of bad experiences dont get to enjoy the present. Apart from that, nobody wants to hear about your raw deals so you wont enhance most social gatherings.

Doing some exercise is not only good for you, but also will put you in a better frame of mind. Leave the radio at home and start noticing smells, flowers, people, leaves, and just generally let your mind rest. Insist on some your time if just to give yourself pampering like a foot or cuticle massage.

Small luxuries promote a positive sense of self. You may also self indulge by buying yourself a small item youve wanted or by doing something special for someone else. Dont try to be all things to all people. We must accept reasonable limitations, and after all, who cares?

Most importantly, keep your sense of humor! A good bellylaugh really does produce positive returns on your health.
