I am in a relationship and mentioned that I have received compliments with the partner present

. I did not feel that it was strange, but that, too, may have to do with the people involved and their ideas and also, as I initially stated, with the delivery. For instance, one of my or my partner's colleagues coming up to us and saying that I look wonderful or stunning will not leave a bad aftertaste with either involved. If somebody came up and said i.e. "Nice a..!" it would be a different story, but I do not consider that a compliment. That would be an inappropriate evaluation at best.

I personally do not automatically assume a man is hitting on me, when they pay me a compliment. I may be wrong, but since such an action would require a reaction on my part of go anywhere, it will probably never be a problem. So as it stands, I just smile and thank the person and that is it.
