It is even more fun if your daughter can help you and perhaps you could have a tutu making party! You do not need a sewing machine or to use a needle and thread. You will make a tutu that your little girl will be very happy with. The method is not at all complicated. It is really so simple that it will take you less than an hour to make and complete it. All you need to do is follow simple instructions on how to come up with the best tutu design and add your own individual touches. Use your imagination and come up with a theme on which to base your design. For example in Spring make a yellow tutu which can be made into a chick costume by adding feathers and a headdress. Here is how to do it: Materials that you need: - 6 yards of Tulle - Elastic 1 to inch - Scissors - Stapler - Ruler How to make a tutu: 1. Collect everything you need and place them conveniently near your working surface. Lay your tulle across a large surface such as a table with fold towards you. With your scissors, cut strips of the tulle 6 inch wide. 2. Take your elastic band and wrap it around your little girl's waist and cut where the ends meet. Staple together the ends of the elastic with an allowance of one inch to be sure that the ends do not come apart, taking care to fix the staples running up and down rather than from side to side. 3. Take a strip of tulle, open it and place the center above the back of the elastic, then pull the tulle around up to the front and tie snuggly. For a shorter tutu, keep it folded. 4. Repeat the above process with all the tulle pieces. 5. When all the strips of tulle have been securely tied, spread them evenly and make sure that the entire elastic is covered if it is of a different color from the tulle. Your little one is sure to love her pretty tutu and will want to show it off at the ballet class!
