How Fuel Cards Work

Fuel cards are a credit card which can be used to purchase fuel only

. Every fuel card has a vast network of different fuel stations throughout the UK and, often Europe, in which it can be used. If you were to open a fuel account with our company, fuelcards.com, you would be issued with fuel cards and we would set up an account for you on our system. This account would then allow you to track your fuel spending habits.

Opening a fuel card account with a company such as ours is quite simple. We need only a few details about your company before we can begin to issue you with as many fuel cards as you need. Fuel cards are particularly good for companies who run a large fleet, but smaller companies can benefit significantly too. Every driver who has a fuel card assigned to them, will be tracked separately, so, you will never be in any doubt as to who has spent what. Their individual cards will be electronically tracked by our system, which you will have instant access to.

There are actually a few different types of fuel cards currently available. We can, of course, help you with any queries you may have about fuel cards. Whatever card you need is dependant on several factors, including fleet size, fuel type and budget requirements. One of the biggest considerations when buying fuel cards is proximity to fuel stations. Different fuel cards can be used in different stations, so always check that your fleet will have easy access to stations before signing up.

Once your fuel card services are set up, your drivers will be free to use their fuel cards to pay for fuel across the country. You will receive a bill each month or all of the fuel purchased by your fleet. Your invoice will be itemised, so, you will know where every penny has been spent.
