How Good Interview Answers Lead To Fast Employment
How Good Interview Answers Lead to Fast Employment
Want to learn an advanced (OK maybe intermediate if you been around for a while) technique? This involves a combination of strategies that you may like. All 3 strategies combined will make you stand out as a serious hire and may speed up the process.
The majority of your competition either do or will not use all 3 of these strategies. 1 or 2 maybe but all 3 is a rare. So lets get started:
1. Delivery: Sometimes it is not what you say but HOW you say it meaning deliver your answer. Use subliminal body language. Skilled interviewers are watching your body language anyway. So why not deliver the correct signs for coming across as a great hire? First always sit erect and NEVER change your body position when answering questions. This looks like your squirming.
Secondly, answer the question quickly with extra examples. I will explain more about this in the analogy part below. Just know for now that you have to get those answers out super quick.
And lastly look them in the eye always with a smile. In my 35 years experience I can tell you that eye contact is one of the main reasons people do not get a job. Do not discount this behavior.
2. Analogy Answers: Do you know this is one of the most powerful skills to have in an interview? Its like having a light saber from Star Wars in a medal sword fight. That is because this advanced strategy cuts through a lot of questions in one slice. Use the correct set of analogies my friend and you will find yourself employed sooner than you think.
The key is relating the question and answers to the position and company your interviewing with. Lets say your interviewing with a company to be a medical billing coder. A question like "please tell us of a time when you dealt with a major challenge and how you handled it." Can be answered by relating your past experiences with the job. Then explain how you would handle that same challenge or any other in the future. But the key is to relate those future decisions to (in this example) the medical billing position your interviewing.
3. Power Statement: this is a strategy where you wrap things up by restating your qualifications and how your the best candidate. But here is the trick, explain it in a way that leads to a followup resolution. For example "I am glad you asked me these questions Mrs Johnson. Because it should clearly help you identify that i am qualified for the position. I would like to followup with you early next week to see where you are with the hiring process. " See how I ended that? You not only restated your qualifications but you also transitioned to following up with your interviewer.
The good interview answers come in the form of excellent delivery, creative analogy, and a strong power statement.
