How I Get Free Traffic To My Website With Yahoo Answers

Here's a rule I live by when it comes to traffic generation: Never put all of your eggs in one basket. If you rely on one or two methods exclusively, you're simply setting yourself up for disaster.

For example, you could spend all of your time on video marketing and get really, really good at it - you could be getting lots of traffic to your site, making sales, getting new email subscribers, etc. But then, let's say your YouTube account gets shut down - all of a sudden, your world flips upside down and your online business is in the tank.

Yahoo Answers is another 'spoke in the wheel', so to speak, to help you get some (free) traffic coming to your blog, sales page, affiliate offer - where ever you're trying to send visitors.

The basics of the method is this: You go on the Yahoo Answers website. Create a profile and fill it out completely. Go into your area of expertise or the niche area you're focusing on with your marketing and give genuine, helpful answers to questions folks have.

Occasionally - maybe every three or four answers - you leave a link back to your site (in the context of being helpful and in a non-spammy way, of course).

Here's a couple more tips to help you get the most out of Yahoo Answers:

1. Give good answers - be genuinely helpful and folks will want to check out more of your stuff.

2. Be the first one to answer - you'll get much more exposure, as everyone has to read through your answer first.

3. Try to get voted the best answer by leaving a great response - your answer will be pushed to the top of the responses, which equals more traffic!

4. If you get the chance, try to insert some target keywords into your answer - answers will come up in search results, many times for months and months to come. I still see dribbles of traffic from answers I posted six months ago.
