It is finally time for me to work on selling my timeshare

The first thing I need to do now that I'm selling my timeshare is work out it's value. Many timeshares are sold for a fraction of their original purchase price. In this economy, less desirable timeshares may be very difficult to sell. Pricing a timeshare low will help you to get rid of it faster. The alternative ofcourse is pricing it higher which may get a better price, but you will have to pay other fees for a longer period of time.

Using an estate agent can often be worth the commission charged. A real estate agent can help find potential buyers for your unit and ensure that the legal details of timeshare sales are done properly. Look for a real estate agent or company who is a member of the American Resort Development Association.

If your timeshare is part of a development, you could find out if the development has sales people working on site who deal with resales, but be sure to understand the fees before signing. It might also be worth finding out who owns the adjacent weeks in your timeshare since they may be interested in potential buying yours. Some sellers have had luck on auction websites or using classified ads, either within the timeshare community or sometimes locally.

Selling my timeshare may wind up being a difficult process, but it will be worth it in the end for my family. Instead of being tied down to our timeshare, we will be able to join a vacation club and travel to many locations at a substantial discount.
