How Many Types Of Present Tense?

Present Tense is the tense used to talk about the current action. For an effective English communication it is important to learn tenses. In English Grammar there are four types of Present Tense viz.
Simple Present Tense
Present Continuous Tense
a)Present Perfect Tense
b)Present Perfect Continuous Tense
The brief description of these subtypes is given below.
A) Simple Present Tense:
Structure of Sentence:
Positive Sentence:
Subject Verb Rest of the Sentence
I / you/ we / theylearn English.
He/ She/ It learnsEnglish.
RULE: We add 'S' /es/ ies when we talk about the third person.
The spelling for the verb in the third person differs depending on the ending of that verb:
1.We add ES after the verb which ends with -O, -CH, -SH, -SS, -X, or -Z
Examples:
Go - goes,
Watch - watches
Fix - fixes
Wash - washes
Buzz- buzzes
2.We remove the Y and add IES after the verbs which ends with consonant + Y
Example:
Study - studies,
Carry - carries
Worry - worries
3.We just add S after the verbs which ends with a vowel + Y, Example:
Play - plays
Enjoy- enjoys
Say - Says
Pray- prays
Examples :
The kids love to play online games.
He prefers homemade food.
We
Learn English.
She learns English
We also use Is & Are to make positive sentences in which there is no action.
Examples:
They are happy.
Kareem is honest.
Learning English online is quite easy.
The effective English communication is the key to success.
Negative Sentence:
The negative sentences are made by using is not (isnt) / are not (arent) & do not / does not.
We use is not & does not when the subject is he/she/it.
We use do not & are not when the subject is they, you, we, I. The point to be noted here is that instead of are not we use am not when the subject is I.
Examples:
I dont trust anyone except you for this confidential report.
My boss doesnt allow me to take leaves during weekdays.
He is not lazy.
They are not trustworthy.
Interrogative Sentence:
The interrogative sentences are made by using is / are & do / does , is not (isnt) / are not(arent) & do not / does not.
Example:
Does he want to spend vacations in Spain?
Do you know about his achievements?
Is he ready for the party?
Are you at home?
Use of Simple Present Tense:
It is used to talk about
1) The present actions.
Examples:
John likes to play soccer.
We learn English.
2) The daily routine:
Every day, we go to school by bus.
I always go to gym in the evening.
3) The facts:
Examples:
The sun rises in the east.
