How Much Are We Aware Of The Antibacterial Products?

Right from the days of the childhood, we were taught about health and hygiene by our teachers at the school and our elders at home

. When we grew up, we started teaching the same things to our children. We have developed the habit to take a bath for self cleanliness, and we wash our hands before taking meals and after doing dirty jobs. But, have you ever thought, that how much do we really know about the kind of products that we use for the personal cleanliness? We simply think that using good quality soap or an antibacterial products will help us to kill the germs.

We have heard several times, about the advantages of antibacterial Soaps & products. They are known to reduce the bacteria on our hands, though it might not be very effective for viruses. We should know that soap is the combination of fatty acids & triglycerides and Sodium hydroxide. Due to this combination, the fatty acids get separated from the triglycerides and are fused with the hydroxide ions. This results in the formation of a salt that is commonly known as 'soap'. The soap functions as follows:

1. It decreases the surface tension of water

2. It binds the dirt, oil and germs with it, which gets washed away when we wash our hands.

3. If you use certain antibacterial product, it has the chemicals like triclosan or triclocarbon that works on bacteria. However, we should keep the soap for two minutes on our body, before rinsing.

Germs are everywhere, and we know that the stronger actions we take against them, the stronger they grow. According to the studies at the Tufts University Medical School in Boston, the use of antibacterial products may result in the growth of the drug-resistant bacteria. Think! What will happen, if the bacteria become immune to the chemicals like triclosan and triclocarbon? The overuse of these chemicals must be avoided, because we are forcing our germs to trouble us more, by gaining resistance against these chemicals.

There are other alternatives too! You can choose the anti bacterial products that do not carry the chemicals like triclosan. The Defense soap lines of products carry no triclosan. The soap is made up of natural ingredients, which can destroy MRSA (Methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus), ringworm, staph, impetigo, herpes, jock itch and athlete's foot. In addition to this, it has no petrochemical compounds or sodium lauryl sulfate. It has no side effects and you can simply rely on it.
