The last step usually consists of your dentist installing a restoration to the tooth. This is because the combination of decay and the root canal procedure itself can make your tooth very unstable. A dental crown is generally used to stabilize the tooth and complete the process.

After The Procedure Is Complete

After your root canal is completed, it is normal for you to experience some mild pain. This can be treated with an over the counter pain medicine such as Tylenol or ibuprofen. After the procedure is completed, it is usually recommended that you rest for the remainder of the day. Most patients can resume work or school the next day.
