When it comes to adding branding or any form of advertising to a lamppost or angled bar there are many options
. They include Zip ties, cord, standard post mounted brackets and air spring brackets, but with every option there are pros and cons.
So here is a little breakdown of options and their pros and cons:
Zip Ties - these are cheap and really easy to put up but unfortunately they move around which means so does your banner. They can also be hard to remove without using a sharp knife which can also scratch your post. Zip ties don't give the most professional of looks
Cord - this is still quite cheap and easy to put up (although it can be time consuming). Depending on how you attach your cord to your post this type of fixing can also move around. It is easy to remove without leaving marks on your post and looks more professional than zip ties, but only very slightly.
Standard Post Mounted Brackets - they are relatively easy to put up but they are more expensive than other types and sometimes can leave marks on your post. You will also need to check the weight of your brackets to check they satisfy new legislation. They do have a professional look and are more appropriate for business wishing to advertise than the previous two options.
Air Spring Brackets - Also relatively easy to put up, they cost around the same as the standard post mounted brackets but they do not leave marks on the post and they do satisfy the new weight legislation. Of all the fixings I have mentioned these are by far the most professional looking.
If you are looking to get a lost cat or dog poster up on a lamp post then I would suggest using the cheap and easy zip ties or cord. If you are a business looking to advertise your brand or an event then I would choose the air spring brackets.
With this type of advertising really growing at the moment, especially in London with the Olympics, more and more post fixings are coming on to the market almost every week. I keep a keen eye on all the new types or post mounted brackets available and if I see one design that catches my eye and is worth letting you know about, then you can be sure that I will be informing you.
