The things that you need to dye hair with henna include henna powder, water, hair clips, old towels, plastic cape, paper towels, plastic gloves and a shower cap. The quantity of henna powder will depend on the thickness and length of your hair. So you must take the quantity of henna powder as much as you need it.

To start off, you need to make henna paste. In order to make henna paste, you must pour henna powder in a bowl and add water to it. Make a thin paste but it should not be runny thin. It should be thick enough to easily cover your hair and stick to them.

The next step is to properly cover the person for whom you are preparing to apply henna. This is necessary so that you do not mess up the clothes of that person. Wrap a long layer of paper towels around her neck. Now wrap towel over it.

Now you must divide hair into different sections. Dividing hair into sections make it easy to apply any hair care product. Clip all the section of hair except one from which you start applying henna paste. To protect your skin of neck and face from getting stained from henna, you must apply Vaseline along the hair line.

Start applying henna to each section layer by layer until you have covered each and every strand. Start applying from the roots of every section of hair till the tip of every hair. Cover the head with the shower cap to keep henna moist. Leave it on for an hour or two or until henna gets dry. The longer you let it stay the deeper will be the shade. Wash your hair with cold water. And let them air dry.
