How To Attract Product Reviews
Most consumers read online reviews from other consumers before deciding whether or not purchase a product
. These reviews have proven to be effective in driving up sales and increasing consumer trust in your product or services. They are also useful when it comes to improving brand visibility since search engines love reviews. This means that your business stands to benefit immensely from them.
However, the term no publicity is bad publicity does not always hold weight especially when we are talking about reviews from consumers. Bad reviews about your business turn away clients and since bad news travels fast, negative reviews can ruin your business reputation in a very short time span. It is therefore important to base your business on good products and services.
There are basically two types of reviews and these are: solicited and unsolicited reviews. Solicited reviews are those that your business asks for. For example, you may send your product to a body that publishes reviews on products and have them do an independent review of the product. On the other hand, unsolicited reviews are those that as the name suggests, are not solicited. This happens when clients take it upon themselves to write down their experience with your product or service. All the above reports can either be positive or negative.
How to Attract Customer Reviews
There are many ways in which a business can attract its clients to leave reviews on products they have used. These are:
Follow-Up Emails:
Using your data base of clients, you can send follow-up emails asking your clients to review the product or service they used. You however need to time this request well since the client needs to have received the item and used it for a while in order to form an opinion. This system therefore requires close monitoring on when the product was purchased and therefore cannot be sent as bulk mail to various clients.
Review Sites:
There are a couple of authority sites who take it upon themselves to review products. Consumers look up to such sites to make a purchase decision since they are independent and authentic hence trustworthy. You can invite these sites to review your product and give an honest opinion including the pros and cons.
There are also sites that offer reviews for SEO purposes and they are paid to generate positive reviews for products. Though these may work for a while, it is always important to make sure the reviews you pay for sound authentic and not auto generated as this may make your clients lose confidence in your business practices.
Have a Review Page:
A reviews page on your site is a very good idea. It creates a forum for clients to discuss the product and also provides a great platform to improve on your product. It is also a good place to address customer misconceptions and queries. The reviews portal should be easily accessible by your customers.
Product Reviews whether positive or not can be used to enhance your business and provide an opportunity for growth.
