Even so, there are some things that you can do personally to help an individual who is suffering from depression. Note that depression is a recurring condition hence it is advisable to stay on treatment for extended periods of time to help prevent a recurrence of the condition.

Important to note is that depression without an obvious impulsive event is known as melancholia, a condition which was previously known as endogenous depression. The different types of depression and distinctions aren't very important because the effects, symptoms, and treatment of the condition are the same.
