How To Become Yoga Certified
When you are a practitioner of yoga for a long time already
, you might have considered taking up a training program and become yoga certified instructor. Even if you really don't have any plans yet of teaching yoga, attending training courses will surely help you to enhance your skills and master the style of yoga that you want.
Actually, yoga is not only good for the body but it is also good for the mind. A lot of people who have been practicing yoga for quite some time already have admitted that they have changed their current views in life and they have improved mentally and spiritually. The meditation involved in yoga is really something that can change a person's perspective as well as their ways of living. This is the main reason why a lot of people who are hooked to yoga would like to enhance their skills more and even share them to others by becoming an instructor of yoga.
To be able to teach yoga, you need to be certified. This is why you need to enroll in a training program that is conducted by yoga schools that are internationally recognized. Usually, the training course would require you to have 200 hours of training. Although there are numerous schools that provide such training, it would be necessary to select a school that will not only teach you the principles of yoga but also will provide you with the experience that you needed. Experience is more important because through it, you will definitely learn a lot.
Training courses usually have minimum requirements prior to accepting applicants to become an instructor. Thus, you need to be practicing yoga for quite some time and you need to have advanced skills before you'd be able to teach.
You need to know that there are generally two levels of Yoga Alliance certificates. These would be level one and level two. The difference between these two would be the length of the training program itself. Level one would be 200 hours while level 2 would be 500 hours. For you to be certified, you have to complete the number of hours required.
Most yoga studios would require the first level for someone to become a teacher of yoga. Then, if you would like to enhance your skills further, then you can consider taking up the second level wherein it requires 500 hours. Once you are able to complete the Yoga Alliance registered instructor training program, then you are already yoga certified and you can affix the acronym, RYT or Registered Yoga Teacher, right after your name.
Upon completion of the program, you can already start teaching yoga or you can set up your own yoga studio and have yoga classes. However, you should know that becoming an instructor of yoga is not a guaranteed job and it doesn't promise you with high earnings. Although this career works for some, it is not applicable to all. Some would still keep their usual day jobs while also teaching yoga in their extra time. This way, they are still able to continue yoga while also earning additional income.
