As you know, it is often full of examples of poetry terms. Rap and all other types of music artists use their music to express their views, opinions and feelings in their songs and is a fast evolving musical art form and contrary to much popular opinion, it is a musical genre.
It is a very beautiful, creative, and innovative musical genre which is neither superior nor inferior to any other genre of music because it is a distinct form of artistic expression. This type of music is not something that everyone understands so it is scary to those who are not familiar with the art form. The music mirrors what goes on in the urban American city and may be the ultimate oxymoron, while jazz is American classical music.
Rap music as a musical form began among the youth of South Bronx, New York in the mid 1970's. The hip-hop genre originating in the mid-1970s among black and Hispanic performers in New York City, at first associated with an athletic style and presentation.
Hardcore hip-hop was the name given to the subgenre of hip. It was once called a fad, however, it now celebrates its 30th anniversary of actually being recorded in 1979. It has emerged as a way for out nation's black youth to express a voice about their feelings, problems and community that otherwise wouldn't be heard at all.
Rapping about their pain and the violence they live with has rescued several rappers from the "thug life" and given them legitimate, productive careers, while also sending a disturbing message to America about the state of its "forgotten communities.
Rap pioneer KRS-One, offers a blunt explanation: Rap's early stars, from Grandmaster Flash to Public Enemy and LL Cool J, "touched on humor, politics, ghetto life and realities they faced. It has influenced many forms of popular culture, particularly film, and has been increasingly incorporated into pop music.
Rap music is a fast evolving musical art form thar has transformed America not only with its message, but with dress, language, and all the culture that comes with it. Rap word was derived from a 1960s slang word for conversation which generally consists of chanted, often improvised, street poetry accompanied by a montage of well-known recordings, usually disco or funk.

It is all about the presentation reaching the audience and getting the point across. This is the latest African American cultural commodity to titillate white audiences.
Rap music is the more accessible, friendlier, livelier, party aspect to hip-hop music and is one of the elements of hip-hop; it is a form of rhyming lyrics spoken rhythmically over musical instruments, with a musical backdrop of sampling, scratching and mixing by DJs.
Music on early rap records sounded like the black music of the day, which was heavy funk or more than often disco music. Music has been around for centuries but probably the music that has the greatest influence on people, young and old, has to be the rap/hip-hop industry.
