How To Block On Facebook - Block People On Facebook In 5 Easy Steps

When using Facebook for social networking, it may so happen that you have experienced unwanted communication from someone

. This can happen on any social networking site.

To remove someone as a friend and ensure that they cannot get in contact with you on Facebook, simply follow the easy five steps below.

Before you go ahead and block a person, you may wish to spend a second thinking about whether blocking them is the right thing to do. If you don't mind if they communicate with you, then you could simply de-friend them. If you change you mind after you have blocked someone, then you can unblock them, but you will still have to re-add them as a friend. If you have thought through your options then follow the steps below.

Stage 1

First of all, you should log into your Facebook account. Before blocking someone, you may like to think about reporting them to Facebook if they have shown abusive or offensive behaviour towards you. If this is the case, you can click on 'Report/block this person' which is located on their profile page.

Second Step

If you do not want to report a person but just block them so that they cannot message you, then click on 'Account' which is located at the top right of your dashboard and select 'privacy settings'.

Step 3

When you have done this, you should be able to choose 'Block lists' from the middle of the page. Then click on 'edit your lists'.

Fourth Step

After you have filled in the details of the person you wish to block - either their name or email - then you can click on 'block this user'.

Stage 5

Before they are unblocked, you will be shown a list of people that may include the person that you wish to block. Find them in the list and then click on 'Block' next to their name.

When you have completed this process, the offending person will not be able to communicate with you on Facebook and will not be listed as your friend. You have successfully blocked them!
