Building a list is easy. There are many proven ways of getting information from people. But are these people really interested in the products being sold or the services being offered?
Many list builders fall into the false assumption that any list will make a business successful. The truth is that the list is useless if they are not composed of people who in one way or another are interested in the products being offered by the list builder. It would be better to get just a few names of people who opted to be included in the list because they want to know more about the product than a thousand names of people with random interests.
A well-targeted list should be developed. How to build a list of this sort requires careful study but there are people who have done this before and they are willing to share their secrets. Here are some of them.
1. Get people who are willing to give out information because they are interested in buying a product. This can be done by putting an option to register in the website where the product is being offered.
2. Advertise the product or service in websites where the targeted people frequently visit. Be sure that the advertisement should include a link a registration
3. Offer giveaways and other incentives such as discounts on products and freebees.
4. Offer newsletters and other information materials. This can also be used as information campaign. The fact that they are interested in whatever is in the newsletter means there is a big chance that they will try the product.
