Most people who play the priest will wind up healing the other members in your guild, instance or party. The other path you can take your priest is down the holy tree. You'll find this path helps buffs and defenses for the class as well as for others in your team. The last talent in the tree allows you to cut down 90% of the damage dealt to you.

The most popular talent build that a lot of people are using these days is the shadow talent build. This talent build helps you by improving the chances to gain critical strikes on your spells and provides some defense as well. The talents help improve times on spells and makes them hit harder. If you plan to pick a WoW priest, shadow is one of the better paths to take.
