Think that using paid advertising to build your downline is not an option for you

-- that it is something reserved for those with ridiculously high marketing budgets? Think again . . .

When you are working to build your downline, the best strategy is to use numerous forms of traffic and lead generation (what I call having an octopus approach to your marketing system). Ideally, paid traffic would be one of the "tentacles" of that octopus marketing system that you would utilize.

The problem is that many marketers believe that paid traffic is off limits if someone is working on a limited marketing budget. I won't lie to you and say that you can generate the same number of leads and build your downline just as fast using paid advertising regardless of the size of your marketing budget.

That is not to say, though, that someone on a budget can't use paid advertising to build your downline. It is all about knowing how to use paid advertising on a budget. Really understanding paid advertising is critical for ANYONE (as it can be a quick way to drain your bank account if you don't know what you're doing), but it is especially critical for someone who is on a budget.


So here are some ways you can build your downline using paid advertising even if you're on a budget.

1. Know Your Exact Starting Budget: While this may seem like common sense, it is critical to know exactly how much money you have right now that you can spend on paid advertising -- and to stick to your budget. It will do you no good, and will certainly not build your downline, if you spend yourself right out of business. I know it will be tempting to want to "ramp up" your paid advertising once you start, but be patient. You will get the results you want, and you will build your downline. 2. Make A Reinvestment Plan: Just because you are on a very limited budget now, does not mean you will be on one forever . . . or even for too long if you plan correctly. Once you start using paid advertising, and start building your downline and seeing some money coming back into your pocket, you need to REINVEST that money! Don't think of that money as profit; think of it as your ticket to being able to do much more (and better) paid advertising.

The strategy you want to have to build your downline and increase your profit line as quickly as possible, is to reinvest as close to 100% of your profits as you can in the beginning. The plain truth is that the more you are willing to reinvest, the faster you will build your downline. Period. So ask yourself how quickly you want to build your downline and your business. If your answer is "FAST!" then you will want to be willing to make whatever short-term sacrifices are necessary to be able to reinvest those profits into your business. Reinvesting 80% of your profits, for example, will build your downline and your business much faster than reinvesting 25%.

3. Choose Your Paid Advertising Platforms Wisely: The final key to be able to build your downline using paid advertising if you're on a budget is to pick your paid advertising platforms wisely. If you are going to do pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, select a PPC platform that allows for much smaller daily minimums and smaller minimum bids. MyAds.com is an example of one such site. Pick a site with a smaller list at first if you are going to use solo ads. Create your own banners if you are going to do banner advertising (there are many websites that offer free banner creation services).


All of these will build your downline (and start to put some money into your pocket), even if it doesn't happen as quickly as it would if you were on a larger budget. The key is to GET STARTED, get some money coming back into your business. It will give you the fuel to slowly ramp up your business and will get the ball rolling to build your downline.
