How To Capture Rail Photos By Five Photography Skills

2. Manual focus

You should notice the below key points when you use manual focus mode:

c. Make metering in advance. Adjust the camera to the aperture priority and set aperture to f / 8. Test the measured shutter value of the camera.

e. Look your photos and check the exposure situation.

3. Slow the shutter down

In order to shoot a photo of long rail, we should slow down the shutter and set it to 8 second. But because the shutter opening time is longer, so we should adjust the aperture to a smaller value.

When you take shootings, if there aren't too many cars, the photos will look monotonous. We should do something to improve the situation. We should use B/T shutter and black card to make multiple exposure and shoot different rails in one picture.

5. Adjust the white balance

White balance is a particularly important part in photographic techniques. As same as night shooting, white balance can adjust the color of the photos.
