How To Care For Your Garments
A famous person once said that clothes do not cover what is not beautiful
. Powerful words, and these days people put more and more emphasis on clothes, but they are sometimes neglected to be cared for. This would result to people buying more and more clothes, despite knowing how to properly care for them. You should really know how to take good care of your clothes, especially since these things don't really come cheap. To drive that guilt away, here are a few guidelines on how to look after your clothes.
Storage is a very important factor in keeping good care of your clothes, this in fact will help extend the life of your clothes to an indefinite number of years. There are a lot of ways to care for your clothes, with some even proving to be a bit surprising or refreshing. A newly purchased garment must be dabbed with transparent polish to serve as a sealant for the threads. Removing the fuzz on a specific area of your garment can be removed by a tape that is wrapped on a portion of your finger with the gluey side facing out. You can also do this to remove fuzz on most portions of the clothing but with a larger remover. Rather than using your finger, you can also use a rolled up magazine and roll it on your clothing.
For your zipper teeth, it might sound ridiculous but you can actually put some candle wax on it, and that wax would help your zipper to function properly. A tool to remove fuzz or lint on your clothing is an investment. This would go a long way in helping you keep your clothes looking new and fresh. You should do this after using your clothes so you could reduce and prevent the accumulation of lint on your clothing. If you look closely, there is more that clothes harbor every time we ready them for laundry; there is dust, dirt and hair. These should be removed carefully even before laundry.
To take care of those wrinkles on your clothes after wash, a good application of steam would straighten it right out. And a shirt with no wrinkles would definitely look much fresher than that with wrinkles. A notable freshening will require clothes to be placed properly inside your closet. Don't put them too close to one another since your clothes also need some space to breathe, believe it or not. So make sure to separate those clothing items that you use occasionally from those that you seldom use. To prevent your white clothing from fading or discoloration, make sure rinse it thoroughly. Stains can be easily taken care of with some bleach and some warm water.
Be extra careful with dark clothes however, because these tend to fade much faster. To avoid fast-paced fading and to preserve its color, mild washing detergents in warm water must be used. Your leather clothing may require a bit more attention because they moisten when stored incorrectly. Make sure that there's enough circulation of air where you store your leather clothes, and only use trusted brands for cleaning them. And also, always follow instructions.
Heed these words, and you will definitely be on the right track to keeping your clothes looking new and good looking. While they don't require too high of a price and too hard on your efforts, it must be a no choice to follow these than regret later.
