How To Care For Your Great Lengths Hair Extensions

Great Lengths hair extensions only use the highest quality Indian Temple Hair

. This makes them one of the best hair extensions on the market today. As the hair is of such high quality, the results are completely natural looking and last for a good 4 to 6 months if looked after properly. If you ever had Great Lengths extensions, you will already know that they are expensive. As with most things in life, with extensions you really do get what you pay for! But with such a massive price tag, you want to make sure your extensions look as good as possible, for as long as possible. If you follow these simple tips you will keep your extensions looking fabulous.

After you have had your Great Length hair extensions put in, you will need to keep your hair shampoo and conditioner free for 48 hours. This allows the bonds to fully bind to your own hair. If you fail to adhere to this guideline you run the risk of breaking down the bond and your extensions falling out. Once the 48 hour time period is over you should use a specially designed Great Length shampoo and conditioner that best fits your hair type. Some salons include these products in the price of the extensions and some don't.

After conditioning you should towel dry your hair being careful not to tangle or pull the extensions. Spray the bonds with Anti Tap solution as this will bring your hair into the proper pH balance. Be careful what products you use on your hair as chlorine and other mineral can weaken the keratin bonds that hold the extensions to your own hair.

When brushing your hair always make sure you start at the bottom of the hair and work your way up. This may seems abnormal at first as it is the opposite of how you would normally brush your own hair. Take short strokes with the brush instead of long quick ones as these could catch on the bonds and cause the extensions to come out. As is the case with your own hair, your extensions are especially vulnerable when they are wet so take extra care.

You can try using a leave-in lightweight conditioner if your hair needs extra conditioning. Always apply a heat protection spray before using heated appliances such as a hair dryer or hair straighteners.

When blow drying your new hair, be careful to direct the air downward to minimise knots and tangles. Use your fingers instead of a brush to separate the hair as it dries and don't use a brush on it until it is almost dry. Too much pulling and tugging when the hair is wet could cause the extensions to come out.

Once your hair is dry you can style it like you would your own hair. Create different hairstyles with hair straighteners and curling irons but be careful not to let the heat element touch the bonds as the heat can loosen them. If you are using electric rollers, don't let the roller touch the bonds. Again, be careful not to tug or pull on the extensions when styling.
