How To Check For The Model Number On A Sony Laptop
I currently run an online store specializing in replacements for various kinds of sony laptop batteries
. Many customers would enquire about compatibility before purchase. When i tried to ask them what their laptop models or battery codes are, but some of them simply do not know what the models and codes are. In fact, every laptop manufactured by Sony has a specific model number. Depending on which Sony laptop model you are dealing with, the model number can be found in one of two different locations.
1.Open the laptop and fully extend the LCD screen.
2.Check the LCD screen frame to see if the model number is located there. Search both the left and right sides of the LCD frame.
3.Check directly above the keyboard to see if the model number is located there. Examine both the left and right sides.
4.Verify that the number you located is the model number by confirming that it begins with either the letters VGN or PCG. The model number always starts with one of those combinations of letters. For example, Sony PCG-FX501 or Sony VGN-FS52B.
5.Combine the first three letters with the numbers that follow to obtain the entire model number.
If you want to find out a battery code, you could also try to find the code on the surface of the battery. The battery code usually begins with the letters PCGA or VGP. For example, sony pcga-bp2nx battery or Sony VGP-BPS2 battery.
