Do not choose a roofer just because they offer the lowest price, because you might get just what you pay for.

Ask the company if they are bonded and have a license to repair or replace a roof. A reliable roofer will not try and rip you off. They will offer you different products to choose from, not just the expensive shingles and tiles.

Verify with the roofer who is responsible for removing old roofing materials, a reliable roofing company will remove all old shingles and debris when the job is completed. Get everything in writing do not make a verbal agreement on anything.

Having your roof replaced or repaired can be very expensive; you might have to give a down payment before the roofing company will start the job. Never pay in full until the roofing job is complete. If you make a down payment is sure to ask for a receipt. Look at the completed job and inform the roofing contractor if you have any concerns before they leave your home.
