Product

What is the product that you would market to others? Is it something that you have an interest in or passion for? Is it something that you see value in for yourself? What are the market trends for this product? Who are the competitors and how many other companies market similar products? What is the price?

Compensation Plan

The compensation plan is a breakdown of the commission the network marketing company pays you for your efforts. Will you have to sell to all of China just to make $100 each month? Will your ability to make income be dependent on other people? Compensation plans can be tricky to understand in the beginning. Go over it as many times as necessary to ensure that you are clear.

Training and Support

You will hear a majority of network marketing companies say that when you join their company "you are in business for yourself, not by yourself". Look to see how much regular training they offer online, through conferences and most importantly at live events. Is there a local community of marketers that you can work with and be trained by? Do they teach you how to use multiple marketing strategies? The last thing you want to do is join a new enterprise and be alone, lost and wasting time.

Company

Research the company history before you start working with any network marketing company. How long has the company been around? How has the company been growing? Research the company founder. What other businesses has he operated? What was their history and success rate?

There are so many network marketing companies out there that there is no need to jump on the first boat that crosses your path. Do your due diligence and choose the company that will be right for you. Choose the company that you can work with for the long haul. After all, you are using this as a vehicle to build the life of your dreams.
